This was the most precious video ever. I love how ipads are used in the classroom to help autistic kids become independent. My mom is a teacher for severe autistic children and they just started to use ipads in her classroom, they are a big hit. After watching this most precious video of Leo and reading what his mother had to say all I wonder is how his skill in hos personal life have changed and how much?
This whole story is so touching. The most surprising part is how independent Leo has become just from one simple device. I feel like all children especially ones with special needs should at least give an ipad a try, worth a shot. Ipads can definitively help enhance children's memory, dependence and discovery just from a touch of a finger.
On a regular basis all i use is my phone and an ipad touch. There arem ultiple apps on my ipod touch, but the ones i use the most would be Facebook, Twitter, my bank account and words with friends. Personally, I would recommend Twitter as a major app as well as words with friends. Words with friends is a great game of scrabble with a point system and you can even have a private chat too.
Some apps that I have found for my own use would be : Educate. This app is free and it is an attendance with out the smudge of a pencil/pen or the lost of the attendance sheet. Teacher Tool, also another free app that allows you to upload grades and absences. Another app that i would love to have in the education field would be Keynote which is only $9.99. This app allows you to upload power points for your class as well as slide shows and templates.
Some apps that I would like to use for teaching and learning purposes would be: Pages, it is an app that allows you to type documents for assignments. Mathboard would be a fantastic app for children because it is an app that looks like a chalkboard, has a math problem and four answers that children can pick from and then it shows the problem as if someone was writing it on a chalkboard for them. Grimm's Red Riding Hood app in a 3-d pop up book that allows children to enjoy the art of reading, experiencing it in a whole new way. Typing Tournament is another great app that is a keyboard and teaching people how to type the correct way, so in time they can excel at typing. Another app that is good for learning and teaching would be Alphabeast, it is hand drawn scenes and flashcards for children to learn the alphabet and associate words with letters.

TED Videos
I chose this video because it talks about how diversity links back to DNA so many years ago. This video talks about how we as people share diversity with every living thing that has DNA. This video links to diversity because it discusses how we are linked to African Americans because we share bits of DNA tracing back so many years into your family tree. This video was very fascinating, I would like to know who or what we could be linked to by DNA if scientists went back far enough.
I also, chose this video because it breaks diversity into cultures and how cultures are endangered now. This video links to diversity because it talks about how every person does the same thing being born, living, raising, breeding and dying, but the "dance" of how you do it is different. This video was very interesting, but I would like to learn how we as people could change to keep old cultures and traditions alive.
